Tinkerton's Garden Furniture produces all of our hand built wood products with premium Western Red Cedar. We only use the highest quality Western Red Cedar wood that is harvested from strictly regulated renewable farms in Washington State. No old growth wood is ever used in our products. All of our cedar is kiln dried to remove any residual moisture which reduces swelling, warping, and cracking and is then sanded to a smooth finish.
Western Red Cedar is wonderful to use in furniture due to its amazing properties. The cedar is lightweight and has an incredible thermal co-efficient, which means even on hot days, the wood is cool to sit on. The cedar is resistant to most bacteria and fungus which ensures long life our products. And most importantly, cedar has 80% the strength of Oak and is the most desirable wood to build outdoor furniture with.
